Kontakt will play nice with MainStage (within reason of course but we'll get to that once you describe more of your hw and software setup, concert file and Kontakt libraries). I do all the usual paste-as-alias use of multi-timbral Kontakt multis (although I route audio differently than most - there are plenty of posts on that and challenges already in this forum). That's the "crazy" solution but we're going to need to take into account just how much RAM you have and are using, because that's a hard stop limit for MainStage concerts. Acoustic Essentials & Leads - The Patchman Music Roland Fantom XR, X6, X7, and X8 Volume 1 wind controller soundbank contains 128 Patches and 32 Performances programmed by wind controller expert Matt Traum- an experienced wind synthesist and sound designer. You'll see from my signature that I'm using a commercial product, VEP, to allow me to host Kontakt either on the same machine, or on one of the other two I've got in my live rig. Patchman Music Fantom XR, X6, X7, & X8 Volume 1. I've found essentially zero value in running Kontakt standalone and then using IAC for MIDI and then likely Soundflower (or mixing in the audio interface) for audio coming back. That comes at a price, especially in terms of RAM. Also of importance is know exactly which versions you're actually using.

Also need to know how much memory your concert file is using, how much memory is being consumed by Kontakt, how much memory the samples are using within Kontakt, so forth and so on.

*really* need to understand your Mac, processor, memory before really diving into this.
